Research Facilities and Programs:

AFRL/RB Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

 

The Air Vehicles Directorate is the center of fixed-wing air vehicle research in the US Air Force for technologies to sustain and extend the current fleet, revolutionary technologies for next-generation warfighters, and far reaching technologies for the Space and Air Force of the future.

Current technology development programs in the areas of aeronautical sciences, structures, and control sciences can be found on the Directorate Internet site at http://www.wpafb.af.mil/afrl/rb/, along with the Directorate structure and other background information.

Research Associates in this Directorate are sought for existing and future Centers of Excellence, which have the people, resources, and world class computational and experimental facilities necessary to conduct leading edge in-house research. Currently, these areas include computational fluid dynamics, computational electromagnetics, multivariable control theory, multidisciplinary design and optimization, and air vehicle survivability.
